Women's Ministry
In 1888, a handful of women dedicated to the cause of missions founded Woman’s Missionary Union. WMU is now the largest Protestant missions organization for women in the world. WMU’s main purpose is to educate and involve women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Here at First Baptist Church, we do that by praying and giving to missions, doing missions, learning about missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, and participating in the work of the church and denomination.
Our WMU (Women's Missionary Union) & Women's Minsitry is a vital part of our church ministries. Our WMU director is Susan Hazelrig.
Adult Mission Study - On the second Wednesday evening of each quarter we have a Mission Study. These studies encourage us to pray for our missionaries all over the world and encourage us to be "ON-MISSION" in our daily lives.
God Leading Our Women - falls under the ministry of WMU. Our ladies meet for a time of fellowship, Bible or mission study, & serving others. All ladies (youth included) are invited to attend. Debbie Nail leads this group.
Children In Action (CiAs)is our Children's mission group for grades 1-5. They meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. The leaders are Julia Shelton and helpers. Here our kids learn about missionaries, pray for missionaries, and do missions.
Mission Friends is our Children's mission group for ages 2 1/2 - Kindergarten. They meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. The leaders are Wayne & Sheri Wise, Johnny & Sandra Whitaker, Karen Henderson, & Debbie Nail. Here even our smaller kids learn about missionaries, pray for missionaries, and do missions.
